Case Study: Convoy Security & Trucking Logistics
Request: To provide a full-service, security-escorted trucking service to the US Department of Defense to assist the in movement of sensitive and non-sensitive equipment and materials between military bases throughout Iraq.
Solution: OSSI developed cost-effective system to support Task Order requests, deploying security and trucking vehicles to move freight across Iraq.
Outcome: OSSI became the primary US Department of Defense provider, winning 94% of all task orders under contract and developing a reputation for service excellence.
OSSI:
- Provided comprehensive trucking service, including all packing materials, on-loading and off-loading equipment, towing capabilities, and integrated satellite tracking.
- Created a project specific set of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure repeated safety and quality assurance, while complying to all war zone movement authorization, US Military, and Iraqi authority requirements.
- Secured sensitive missions with convoy security teams comprised of experienced international and local national security operators.
- Utilized armored vehicles and hardened vehicles to escort the truck convoys, while maintaining constant communication with regional military authorities.
- Developed positive relations with key Iraqi military officials to facilitate movements in and out of the Green Zone and other check points, through respect, mutual understanding of the mission’s importance, and cultural sensitivity.
